Principal RF Communications Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Principal RF Communications Engineer.
Specific Job Description: The Principal RF Communications Engineer is responsible for the spacecraft communication system design, simulation and analysis, developing link budgets, supplier oversight, integration and test, and on-orbit operations and checkout of the Communications Systems. The Communications Engineer will be responsible for presenting the design at major reviews with customers and filing the necessary regulatory paperwork, which includes ITU and NTIA compliance. The candidate should also be familiar with U.S. Government rules for handling COMSEC equipment and have experience in maintaining COMSEC materials.
Principal RF Communications Engineer Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Government security clearance.
- BS in Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 7 years experience directly relevant in communications.
- Design experience of spacecraft TT&C communication systems is required.
- Previous RF space-ground link budget and margin analysis experience.
- Communication system requirements definition, ICDs, configuration and risk management knowledge is required.
- Communication component procurement experience of hardware including S-band transponders, transmitters (various bands), diplexers, antennae commonly used on spacecraft in various orbits.
- Experience performing integration and test communications and test equipment in a spacecraft integration environment.
- Experience handling COMSEC equipment and knowledge of COMSEC requirements.
- Design leadership skills preferred.
- S-band transceiver/X-band transmitter/GPS design experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of spacecraft TT&C ground system operation and EVM experience desirable.
The hiring for this position is contingent upon the successful awarding on new contracts.
